2017 stands as the most successful year for pellets. Announcing this is proPellet.ch, which reports that the number of pellet stoves sold rose by 16 percent compared to the previous year, and as a result, demand for pellets also increased, by 8 percent. Also rising is domestic production, which gains +15%, compared to 2016.
The 280 thousand tons of pellets replaced 135 million liters of fuel oil, thus avoiding 370 thousand tons ofCO2. This is thus the valuable contribution of pellets to achieving Switzerland's climate goals.
